Business Basics

~Here is the "What To Do and How To Do It"
basics of starting a business~

Business Launch Checklist

1. Name Your Business

2. Check web domains for availability of website name

3. Contact the city you will open your business in and apply
for a business license.

4. File and publish DBA & Ficticious
Business Name Statement
DBA stands for "Doing Business As". If you are opening a business in your name such as Kay Smith's Interior Design you do not need a DBA.

5. Contact Board of Equalization and apply for State Resale License. If you are going to buy any items and resell them whether its for a dress shop or a gift shop you will need this. You also need this to gain admission at trade shows to make purchases. This link is for the state of California, you will need to check with your state.

6.Open a Business Checking account at your bank and set up a "Merchant Services" account so you can accept credit cards/debit cards. Many banks offer this service but you should shop around for the best rates. Simply Google "merchant services". Square or PayPal are great choices.

These are the basics to get you going, good luck!
